Fees and Payments

Transparency is the heartbeat of the ReMerch Search marketplace. Whether you are a collector investing in a rare piece of music history or a seller turning your collection into cash, we believe in clear, straightforward pricing. This policy outlines all costs associated with using our platform.

1. For Buyers: Transparent Checkout

We want your experience at checkout to be as smooth as a pristine vinyl record. The price you see on a listing is set by the individual seller.

  • Item Price: The cost of the memorabilia as listed by the seller or the final winning bid in an auction.

  • Shipping Costs: Shipping fees are calculated based on your location and the seller’s chosen carrier. These are clearly displayed before you finalize your purchase.

  • Sales Tax & VAT: Depending on your local laws and the location of the seller, applicable sales tax or VAT may be added to your total at checkout.

  • Payment Methods: We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), PayPal, and [Insert other methods like Apple Pay/Google Pay]. All transactions are processed through industry-leading encrypted gateways.

2. For Sellers: Simple Commission Structure

It is completely free to create an account and list items on ReMerch Search. We only make money when you do.

  • Listing Fees: $0.00. You can list as many band tees, records, and posters as you like without any upfront costs.

  • Marketplace Commission: Marketplace Commission: When an item sells, a total 8% commission fee is applied and split between the buyer and seller (4% each). This fee is calculated based on the total transaction amount (Item Price + Shipping).

  • Payment Processing Fees: In addition to the marketplace commission, our payment processors charge a standard fee (typically 2.9% + $0.30) to securely handle the transaction.

  • Net Payout: Your payout will be the total sale price minus the marketplace commission and the processing fee.

3. The Payout Process

To ensure a safe environment for both parties, we utilize a secure escrow-style payment system.

  • Fund Retention: When a buyer pays, the funds are held securely by ReMerch Search.

  • Payout Trigger: Payouts are initiated once the tracking number confirms the item has been “Delivered.”

  • Holding Period: To account for our 7-day Buyer Protection window, funds are generally released to your linked account within 5 business days after confirmed delivery.

  • Payout Methods: Sellers can receive funds via direct bank transfer (ACH) or [Insert other methods].

4. Auction Fees

Auctions are a thrilling way to sell rare memorabilia.

  • Winning Bids: Fees for auction items are the same as fixed-price listings.

  • Non-Payment: If a winning bidder fails to pay within [48-72] hours, the seller may offer the item to the next highest bidder or relist the item for free. Buyers who fail to pay for won auctions may face account suspension.

5. Refunds and Reversals

  • Cancelled Orders: If a seller cancels an order before shipping, a full refund is issued to the buyer.
  • Dispute Refunds: If a return is mandated because an item was “Not as Described,” the full purchase price and original shipping are refunded to the buyer. In these cases, the seller may be responsible for the return shipping costs.
  • Chargebacks: ReMerch Search vigorously defends sellers against fraudulent chargebacks. However, if a chargeback is successfully filed by a buyer’s bank for a legitimate error on the seller’s part, the seller is responsible for the lost funds and any associated bank fees.
  • Buyer Protection Recommendation: For an added layer of security, we encourage buyers to use PayPal as their payment method. PayPal’s built-in Buyer Protection program ensures that disputes are handled with proper steps and evidence, giving both buyers and sellers a fair and structured resolution process. ReMerch Search will cooperate fully in any PayPal dispute to ensure rightful outcomes for all parties.
6. Off-Platform Transactions

 

To protect our community and maintain our Buyer Protection program, all payments must be processed through ReMerch Search. Attempting to circumvent our fees by sharing contact information or requesting direct payment (via Venmo, CashApp, etc.) is a violation of our terms and will result in permanent account termination.
